In so many words it says to use those materials, you must be a user of RPGMaker VX.

It’s amazing to me how many resources out there people call “free and legal” esp. for use in commercial games, and they totally and completely ignore whether or not it really, actually IS. I mean, seriously, you don’t have to know Japanese to run google translate, and even in really bad English, most sites with materials like these touted as free or free for commercial use, clearly say otherwise when you read the fine print.

The moral is, if you are one of the few people left on the planet earth who has a conscience that still works, or else if you just don’t want to get sued if you actually do manage to make an awesome game, you’d better do your own homework. Lies (or gross misconceptions) about how “free and legal” these kinds of resources are are everywhere. But who actually double checks to see how full of it (or mistaken) those people often are?

In this case, ” Because you are using based on the RTP for VX basically, how to use is located must be a regular user of “RPG Maker VX”. … As the material can not be re-distributed.”

Gee… I wonder if they were trying to say, “you can’t use this unless you own RPG Maker XP and are using it in that, and you cannot give these away anywhere?
